Give heed to people’s demand: NCP to Lapang

SHILLONG, Aug 3: The Meghalaya State Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has appealed to Chief Minister DD Lapang to acknowledge the voice of the civil society in its demand for the removal of DGP Anil Pradhan in order to carry out an impartial probe into the Shillong jailbreak.

Meghalaya State NCP spokesperson James K Sangma said the State NCP is worried over the prevailing situation in the State. He said, “We strongly urge the MUA Government to respond to the demands of the Steering Committee Against Murder of Democracy (SCAMoD) and remove DGP Anil Pradhan”. He added, “In order to ensure free-and-fair judicial probe, the DGP should be removed.”

The Meghalaya State NCP also condemned the recent Cabinet decision to dismiss the administrative inquiry report on the Shillong jailbreak headed by the Principal Home Secretary . THE SENTINEL
