Shillongiites back blockade

SHILLONG, Aug 3: Shillong denizens are against the State Government ignoring the report of the administrative inquiry that pointed its accusing finger at Director General of Police (DGP) Anil Pradhan in the release of a politician whose role in the Shillong jailbreak has come under scanner. During a random interaction with the people in public places today, most of the people are supporting the SCAMoD’s demand to remove the DGP. Although, most of them are not in favour to see a deteriorating law-and-order situation, yet they extend their support to SCAMoD.
PF Lyngdoh, a Shillongiite, said he strongly opposes the decision of the government of not removing Anil Pradhan from his post. Another citizen said Chief Minister DD Lapang has turned his back to his promise that he would act against the DGP if the administrative inquiry report proved him guilty. He added, “If we allow the government to do what it likes, more problems will be there in the days to come.”

A section of people from the society said the SCAMoD needs supports it is fighting for the cause of the people.

The night road blockade has started from 7 pm today and will continue till 5 am tomorrow, and again it will start from 7 pm tomorrow till 5 am on August 5. According to reports, after one hour of imposition of the road blockade, a vehicle was torched at Mawrah. The vehicle was allotted to a superintending engineer of the PHE Department. THE SENTINEL
