All Assam Munda Sahitya Sabha body formed

TEZPUR, Aug 27 – In a bid to preserve and promote the language, culture and literature of the Munda community after threadbare discussion and debate among the representatives coming from in and around the State a literary platform, the “All Assam Munda Sahitya Sabha” was formed in a meeting held on Monday last here at Tarun Asom Sangha.

The meeting presided over by the noted Adivasi social worker Juswa Barjo was attended by intellectuals, litterateurs, professors and many well-known personalities from the Munda community. Later based on a consensus decision of the House, a drafting committee to prepare a constitution of the organisation was constituted wherein the intellectuals were given charge to draft a constitution of the organisation and submit the same in the next meeting to be held.

Some other issues of the community including education, land problems etc, were also discussed. The release added that office of the newly formed All Assam Munda Sahitya Sabha was opened here at Tezpur Bamuni Hill near Chandmari area of the historic Tezpur town. ASSAM TRIBUNE
