DERGAON, April 8 – "The Tarun Gogoi government has totally failed to control the law- -and-order situation in the State. At present the common people of the state have no security for their life and property. The serial bomb blast is a common matter of the state. So the government must resign immediately.” This was stated by former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta at an election meeting held at Naren Sarmah Memorial field on Tuesday. The former chief minister also opined that the Tarun Gogoi government could not dare to bother to make public the report of the mass secret killings as the report contains some matters that may be damaging to its leaders. He urged the gathering to cast the votes for AGP-BJP alliance candidate Gunin Hazarika.
The meeting presided over by Nirmal Borah the district president of AGP was attended by Dergaon MLA Sushila Hazarika, Hemanta Kalita spokesman of AGP, general secretary of AGP Atul Borah,Bubul Das, Nripen Baruah, Golaghat district president of BJP Dr Mridul Dutta etc.The former chief minister also participated in three election meetings at Bahfala, Malowali and Dahotia.
