College of aeronautical engineering setup

GUWAHATI, July 10: The students of the Northeast are lagging behind in acquiring qualifications because of the non availability of proper institutions in different disciplines of educational field. It is because of insurgency and lack of infrastructure. As of now, there is no aeronautical engineering college of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Institute of Mechanical Stream (Aeroplane and Powerplants) comprising of light aeroplane (LA), heavy aeroplane (HA), piston engine (PE) and jet engine (JE). Keeping these in view, the College of Aeronautical Engineering at Guwahati near the LGB International Airport has been set up to help the students of the region to meet the requirements of the aviation booming across the Country. The Ministry of Defence has gifted one MIG-21 Aeroplane. The Director General of Civil Aviation has affiliated this College and gave us permission to run the courses This was stated in a press release. SOURCE: THE SENTINEL
