Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2009 results declared
The results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2009, that would pave for admissions into 11 National Law Universities in the country were today declared, reports ZeeNews.com
The CLAT-2009 Core Committee of 11 vice-chancellor’s in their meeting at National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University of Law (NALSAR) here on June 13, approved of the results both for Under-graduate and PG programmes, NALSAR Vice-Chancellor Veer Singh told reporters here.
As many as 12,282 candidates appeared the CLAT for the five-year LLB course in which 9,902 took examinations on General Category with a girl candidate from Delhi securing the highest of 175/200 marks, he said.
A total of 558 candidates appeared on SC category with top score of 170/200, 276 candidates on ST category with highest score of 151/200, BC/OBC category 1,248 candidates with the highest score of 175/200 among other candidates took the exams, he said adding two top scorers with 175 marks have emerged but the details would be known only tomorrow.
The first round of admission to eleven National Law Universities would be completed on the basis of Merit-cum-Preference and the entire admission process would be completed by July 6 and the classes would commence from July 10, Veer Singh said.
The CLAT-2009 results are also available on CLAT website, the vice-chancellor said adding candidates who have been offered seats in various National Universities based on their Merit-cum-Preference need to confirm their Acceptance of offer of admission to CLAT-2009 by paying the necessary fee.
The total seats available at the 11 universities is around 1,150 and the tution fee varied from Rs 45,000 to Rs 90,000 on each institute, which he said had been hiked almost to double compared to the previous year.
