BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 8 – Preparations undertaken to hold free and fair polls in Biswanath and Behali LACs under Tezpur HPC by the Biswanath civil administration were reviewed by Central election observers for Biswanath LAC Syed Haider Hasan and Behali LAC, AK Prasad at two separate meetings held at Biswanath Chariali circuit house on April 5.
The SDO(C) and DEO, Biswanath Bhaskar Phukan briefed them about the steps taken by the administration for a free and fair poll in both the LACs and progress of the working cells, including the polling personnel training programme, implementation of model code of conduct, security measures and other important steps.
The election observers suggested certain measures on the preparation process and also directed that the model code should be strictly implemented and immediate action should be taken on any violation of the model code.
Both the election observers visited different polling stations under their respective LACs accompanied by the election officials. Election observer Syed Haider Hasan also visited the training programme of polling personnel at Biswanath College and interacted with the master trainers at the venue and later visited the strong rooms under construction at the SDO(C) office of both the LACs. The SDO(C) and DEO accompanied the observer.
The review meetings was also attended by the election officer Debojit Baruah and officer-in-charge of the working cells, namely ASSAM TRIBUNE
