23 injured in clash between BPF, BPPF workers

UDALGURI, April 20 – The president of Bodoland Peoples Progressive Front (BPPF), Rabiram Narzary, campaigned in Udalguri on Sunday for the party’s candidate for Mangaldai Lok Sabha constituency, Pradip Daimari.

Speaking in the rally organised at Bishnu Rabha Kristi Sangha premises in Udalguri town, the BPPF president exuded confidence that the BPPF would win both the Kokrajhar and Mangaldai Lok Sabha constituencies respectively by huge margins. He accused the Hagrama Mohilary led BPF of indulging in violence to suppress the growing popularity of BPPF. Rabiram Narzary also criticised the BJP and Congress for not doing anything for the common people of the State.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the BPPF rally in Udalguri town a group clash took place between BPPF and BPF supporters near the venue, which resulted in injuries to 23 people, including 12 women supporters of BPF and two minors. ASSAM TRIBUNE
