MHRD wants all varsities info on their websites

New Delhi: After the turn of the apex judicial bodies, now it is all the apex educational bodies recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to maintain transparency by furnishing all the information on their websites.

The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry, recently ordered all Central Universities and all institutes recognised by the UGC, including deemed universities to follow full disclosure norms.

"All the information related to the infrastructure and academic information should be posted on the website for the students to make well-versed choices," said the HRD Minister Kapil Sibal.

The UGC, following the HRD ministry's directives, has now asked the institutes to post all information related to their financial situation, physical assets, accreditation ratings, faculty positions, details of their faculty along with photographs and nature of employment (ad hoc/permanent), total fee components and details of the academic curricula in the public domain to 'authorize students, parents and other stakeholders with informed choices'. source: http://indiaedunews.net
