GUWAHATI, Oct 20: The third International Expo in Jorhat will commence from October 30 at the Jorhat district Sports Association ground. Altogether, five foreign countries – Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand and Kenya – are slated to participate in the 12-day expo.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati today, member of Leo Group MA Khan said, ‘‘Jorhat is a leading business place in the State for which, we are trying to provide a platform to the local entrepreneurs so that they get an opportunity to expand their business in the foreign countries’’. The expo will have nearly 150 stalls of which 10 have been reserved for local artisans to be provided at subsidized rates. Leading Indian and multi-national companies will also showcase their products in the expo. In addition, a painting competition will also be organized for fifth to tenth standard school children on November 8. THE SENTINEL
