UNIVERSITY OF HYDERABAD ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT 2010 – 11

The University of Hyderabad, a premier institution of Post Graduate teaching and research released its admission announcement in several leading news papers during 1st / 3rd weeks of April 2010. The admission into different courses is based on the merit in the entrance examination conducted by the University at National level. The University offers boarding / boarding cum lodging allowances / fellowships to all the students admitted to any of its regular programmes of study.
Centres for the entrance examinations (to be held from 1st to 7th June, 2010): Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Dharwad, Dimapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Raipur, Srinagar, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. The University reserves the right to cancel any of the examination centres and allot another centre closer to the centre cancelled.

Candidates who are appearing in the final examination of the qualifying degree and expecting their results and certificates before 31st July 2010 are also eligible to apply.

Reservation of seats: Reservation of seats shall be as per the GOI/UGC norms for SC/ST/OBC/PH and wards/dependants of defence personnel, Kashmiri migrants and foreign nationals/NRIs. Few seats are also provided to the nominees from some UT/NE states. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination is also provided for SC/ST/PH categories.

Last date to apply: Prospective applicants are required to submit their filled in applications in the prescribed form so as to reach the Dy. Registrar (Acad & Exams), Office of the Controller of Examinations, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad – 500 046 on or before 03-05-2010. Printed Prospectus cum Application Forms can be obtained from the Academic Section at the above address paying Rs. 400/- in the case of General/OBC category and Rs. 150/- in the case of SC/ST/PH categories for each copy of the Prospectus cum Application Form.

The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be downloaded and the duly filled in application must be sent to the Dy. Registrar (Acad. & Exams) to the above address enclosing a bank draft of Rs.200/- for each course in the case of General & OBC Category and Rs.75/- for each course in the case of SC/ST/PH categories so as to reach him before 03.05.2010. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad, on State Bank of India, Hyderabad Central University Campus Branch, Hyderabad (Code 5916) or on Andhra Bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad (Code 378). Note: Applications received after the last date will not be accepted. University will not be responsible for any postal delay. Candidates are therefore, advised to apply well in time.
