St Francis College Hyderabad Admission Procedure-2010

1. Application for Undergraduate Courses
Application Forms and Prospectus will be available in the college office from 6th May 2010 onwards for Rs.150/-.
Date of Registration & submission of forms along with the Xerox copy of the required documents (Refer Prospectus 17.5) from 17th – 22nd May 2010. The Registration fee is Rs. 150/-.
Admissions will be made in order of merit, based on the aggregate marks secured by the candidates in the optional subjects (excluding languages). Refer criteria of Eligibility for each Course and also for the Date & Timings for Spot Admission.
The eligible students are required to submit all the intermediate (10+2) certificates (Originals and one set of Xerox copy) along with the college fees on the spot, failing which admissions will not be made.

1.1 Admission Schedule
Interview is compulsory for all Minority students (Catholics & Christians only) for admission to B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com. courses before paying the fees. It is scheduled on 17th May 2010 for Catholic students and on 18th May 2010 for Non Catholic Christian students from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. along with the parents. The Candidates are required to bring all the relevant (10+2) certificates along with Baptism Certificate and Letter from the Parish Priest/ Pastor from the respective Churches at the time of interview.
Admission into Reservation categories ( SC/ST/BC/Phy.Handicapped & Sports) for admission to B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com. courses – Registration on 27.05.2010 from 9 a.m. 11.00 a.m. Display of list of selected candidates at 12.30 p.m. Selected candidates are required to pay the fees along with the original certificates on the same day (27.05.2010) between 1.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. failing which their admission will be cancelled.
Candidates are required to refer the accompanying notices for the dates and timings of spot admissions
Candidates are requested to maintain the percentage wise time schedule for the smooth conduct of admissions.

1.2 Eligibility For Admission
Candidates seeking admission to 1st year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./BMS Degree courses must have passed the Two-year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh OR an Examination of any other University / Board recognized as equivalent by the Osmania University. CBSE & ICSE students have to pass English and four other subjects i.e a total of five subjects.
In respect of candidates who have passed +2 examination conducted by Boards other than that of A.P., CBSE & ICSE have to obtain and produce Eligibility Certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education. The Admissions of such candidates will be finalised only after the production of Eligibility Certificate.
Admissions will be made in order of merit and based on the aggregate marks secured by the candidates in the optional subjects.
• Candidates who have passed CBSE & ICSE the main four subjects (excluding the languages) will be considered as optional subjects.
• Candidates who have passed intermediate examination, aggregate marks obtained for all the subjects (excluding the languages) will be considered as optional subjects..

Bachelor of Management Studies(BMS)
Candidates seeking admission to BMS 1st year should have obtained an aggregate of 70% marks in the optional subjects in the streams of Science, Arts or Commerce, to be eligible for applying for the course. B.Com (Regular)
Students securing 60% and above (in optional subjects) in the qualifying examination (Arts, Science & Commerce) are eligible. 60% of the total number of seats available in B.Com. (Regular) shall be reserved for candidates who have passed the qualifying exam with commerce subjects and the remaining 40% shall be open to candidates with science and Arts subjects.
B.Com.(Foreign Trade)
Only students securing 60% and above (in optional subjects) in the qualifying examination with (Arts, Science & Commerce) are eligible.
B.Com.(Professional)
Only students securing 60% and above (in optional subjects) in the qualifying examination with Commerce Subjects are eligible.
B.Com.(Computers)
Only students securing 60% and above (in optional subjects) in the qualifying examination with Commerce are eligible.
Bachelor of Humanities & Social Sciences (B.A.)
Candidates seeking admission to B.A.1st year should have obtained an aggregate of 40% marks in the optional subjects in the streams of Science, Arts or Commerce.
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc.1st year should have secured an aggregate of 40% marks in the optional subjects concerned i.e. Physical Science, Biological Science/ Mathematics.
Students can apply for 5 combinations in order of preference. Please refer to section 5.6.3 eligibility criteria before filling up the application form.
Eligibility for Second Language
Seats in second language Sanskrit are limited. Only those who have secured above 80% marks in Sanskrit in the qualifying examination will be eligible to opt for Sanskrit.
Those whose mother tongue is Telugu are encouraged to take Telugu as second language.
Students who have not studied French as second language in the qualifying examination are eligible to opt for French.

28 May 2010: B.Com & B.M.S courses (70% – 79% marks in Optional Subjects)
B.A. & B.Sc. Courses (60% – 74% in Optional Subjects)
31 May 2010: B.Com & B.M.S courses (60% – 69% marks in Optional Subjects)
B.A. & B.Sc. Courses (50% & above in Optional Subjects) & Filling up the vacant seats.
6th June 2010 :Admission closes.
16 June 2010: Commencement of class for I st Year (Semester I) Students
10 July 2010 :Parent – Teachers meet along with all I year students at 10 a.m. in Capitanio Hall.
