CUJ Admission Notification 2010
HOSTEL ADMISSION/ ACCOMODATION
1. The total hostel seats, for all Courses taken together, are limited to 200 seats for boys and 200 seats for girls.
2. The allotment will be based on the subject- wise Merit List.
3. All hostel fees, including University Caution and Hostel Caution Deposit, should be paid in advance for one year and the fee counterfoil submitted to the Warden prior to occupying the hostel room/ seat, otherwise, the seat shall be forfeited.
4. Requests for Transfers/ Exchanges shall not be entertained except in exceptional cases which will be determined by the Dean of Students/ Wardens.
5. Those applying for hostel seats shall carefully read the Rules and Regulations before submission of the application forms.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The admission in different courses will be based on the score of the entrance tests( CUCET ). If there is a tie with CUCET marks then marks of 12th class examination will be taken. After that if there is a tie, preference will be given to the candidate securing higher marks in the concerned subject. If here again there is a tie, preference will be given to the candidate whose age is higher.
N.B:
1. 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST candidates for deciding minimum eligibility conditions.
2. 10% relaxation for Kashmiri migrants for deciding minimum eligibility conditions.
3. Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying exam may also apply and they are required to
produce the results at the time of admission
Courses:
1) Business Administration
Candidate should have passed 10 +2 or equivalent examination with an overall average of the best 5 subjects (including English) aggregating to 55%.
2) Mass Communication
Candidate should have passed 10 +2 or equivalent examination with an overall average of the best 5 subjects (including English) aggregating to 55%.
3) Nanotechnology
Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with an overall average of the best 5 subjects (including English) aggregating to 55%
Minimum 55% marks in Maths/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology
4) Applied Mathematics
1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 orequivalent examination with an overallaverage of the best 5 subjects (includingEnglish) aggregating to 55%.
2. Minimum 55% in Mathematics
5) Applied Physics
1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with an overall average of the best 5 subjects (including English) aggregating to 55%.
2. Minimum 55% in Physics.
6) Applied Chemistry
1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 orequivalent examination with an overallaverage of the best 5 subjects (includingEnglish) aggregating to 55%.

7) Life Sciences
1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 orequivalent examination with an overallaverage of the best 5 subjects (includingEnglish) aggregating to 55%.

8) Indigenous Cultural Studies
1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with an overall average of the best 5 subjects (includingEnglish) aggregating to 55%.
9) Water Engineering & Management
1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with an overall average of the best 5 subjects (including English) aggregating to 55%.
2.Minimum 55% marks in Maths/ Physics/Chemistry/ Biology.
B. Candidate from streams other than Arts shall also be eligible to apply to the Arts streams, subject to fulfilling the above criteria and obtaining at least 55% marks in English.
C. RESERVATIONS
15% for SC, 7.5% of seats will be reserved for ST candidates and 3% for Physically Challenged
candidates ( 1% for O.H., 1% for V.I., 1% for H.I.).
D. SPORTS PERSON
Sports person who had represented at International/ National or State levels will be given an extra
weightage of 5% in marks when making the Merit List.
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
Application for admission must be supported by self attested photo copies of:
1. Mark-sheets of Final Examinations of Class 12 and Class 10
2. SC/ST/OBC/PC certificate (if applicable) issued by appropriate authority.
3. Migration certificate/No objection certificate from previous Board and University
4. Certificate of conduct from Head of Institution last attended.
5. Certificate of representing India or State or District in any Sport or Game
6. High School/ Matriculation Certificate for Age Proof.
Originals will be required to be shown at the time of admission only. DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES WITH YOUR APPLICATION. The University will not be responsible for any loss of original certificates.
