List of 12 non-stop Duronto trains
The 12 non-stop Duronto trains proposed in this year's Railway Budget are:
1. New Delhi-Jammu Tawi (tri-weekly)
2. Howrah-Mumbai AC (bi-weekly)
3. Mumbai-Ahmedabad AC (tri-weekly)
4. Chennai-Delhi (bi-weekly)
5. New Delhi-Lucknow (tri-weekly)
6. Delhi-Pune AC (bi-weekly)
7. Howrah-Delhi (bi-weekly)
8. New Delhi-Allahabad (tri-weekly)
9. Sealdah-New Delhi (bi-weekly)
10. Kolkata-Amritsar (bi-weekly)
11. Bhubaneshwar-Delhi (weekly)
12. Ernakulam-Delhi (weekly).
While Banerjee is expected to flag off the Sealdah-New Delhi Duronto train at Kolkata's Sealdah station on September 18, Chidambaram would launch the Chennai-Nizamuddin Duronto in Chennai the same day.
Duronto trains will be of two types: fully air-conditioned reserved train and an AC and non-AC combined reserved train.
The fare will include the cost of meals. According to railway sources, the Duranto fares will be lower than those of Rajdhani. source: Rediff.com
