NAGAON, Sept 26: Along with the rest of the State, puja celebrations in Nagaon were also spiced up as a large number of devotees thronged puja pandals set up at Sankar Mission Road, Nagaon Bengali Sanmilani, Tellapatty, Police Reserve besides the Puranigodam puja mandap, where the idol has been made with wood. People donning new clothes are seen moving around with festive fervour all around the city.
The Nagaon Police Administration has also under taken all possible measures to maintain peace in the district. Nagaon SP Nitul Gogoi, Additional SP A Bhuyan and Deputy SP H Barman are personally supervising the law and order situation around the district to avoid any untoward incident during the puja, sources said.
