AASU appeal against ragging

GUWAHATI, Aug 1 – The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has appealed to all the educational institutions to take a firm stand on ragging and nip the menace in the bud by initiating stringent measures aganst anyone found guilty. In a statement, the AASU said that ragging was a social malaise and all concerned needed to put up a united stand to tackle it.

In another statement, the students’ body decried the ‘barbaric police action’ on a peaceful students’ procession at Golaghat and said that it exposed once again the growing police highhandedness with patronage from the State Government. ASSAM TRIBUNE
