The Samity has demanded provision to add four more Bogies to accommodate the increasing number of passengers in the Silghat Gauhati newly introduced broad gauge train. They have also demanded construction of railway platforms in all the stations from Silghat to Nagaon, to provide sitting accommodation with waiting rooms, arrangement for pure and safe drinking water, computerised railway ticket reservation centre at Jakhalabandha and Nagaon Railway Station and to provide electrification in all the stations of the BG line.
The memorandum was forwarded to the Maligaon chief commercial manager by the Samity president Rajen Borkakoti and secretaries Rana Hazarika and Dilip Gayan. SOURCE: THE SENTINEL
