GUWAHATI, April 8: The AGP-BJP alliance today launched a massive election campaign in Congress MLA Akon Bora’s Dispur
constituency. Thus far the said alliance has held meetings in as many as 15 places which include Dimoria, Sonapur, Borkha,
Topatoli, Khetri, Dhupguri, Maloibari, Tetelia, Kolongpar etc.
Significantly, each of the meetings was attended by a huge gathering of enthusiastic supporters who accorded a warm welcome
to BJP candidate Bijoya Chakravarty who was also present at the meetings. Aside from Chakravarty, many other political
bigwigs were also present including AGP leaders Atul Bora, Queen Ojha, BJP’s SC Morcha national executive Arun Kaur, BJYM’s
former State president Jayanta Das etc.
Meanwhile, at Kolongpar, in what may be termed as a dramatic development of sorts, more than 20 Congress workers led by their
leaders Ram Chetri and Faizul Ahmed joined the BJP.
Urging upon the AGP workers to work diligently to ensure victory for BJP candidate Bijoya Chakravarty, AGP leader and former
minister Atul Bora in his speech said that if the Congress misrule was to be rooted out from the State, it became all the
more necessary for the AGP-BJP alliance to triumph at the forthcoming elections. Whilst BJP candidate Bijoya Chakravarty, in
a rare display of confidence, said that she was 100% certain that she would come out victorious in the forthcoming LS
elections. She further stated that though she held Congress candidate Robin Bordoloi in high esteem, the denizens of Guwahati
in particular and the people of Asom at large were quite fed up with Bordoloi given his poor track record concerning
developmental issues. THE SENTINEL
