Please note that we have a new venue this year. It is the St. Matthew's Centre on Malabar Road, Leicester.

Ankur Club was established on 14th. April 1996.

THE AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF ANKUR CLUB

The aim and objective of the club are to promote Bengali and Indian Culture such as Art, Music, Dance, Literature and Language amongst various groups of people of diverse beliefs, culture and religion in the Midlands and beyond. The club's aims are also to create,amongst the younger generation, an awareness of and an interest in, their rich heritage of culture. The members of Ankur come from different professional backgrounds with talents in literature, music and dance. We, (the members of Ankur), hope to establish a real sense of identity and unity within its membership whilst at the same time strengthening the bonds of friendship, co-operation and cultural exchange with the wider community of the United Kingdom.
