Utah, at the crossroads of east and west is now the home state of a sizeable Indian population. The Bengali community is a small but important part of this population. We have in the past, carried out our community events, like Durga Pujo, Saraswati Pujo and cultural event in a disorganized fashion, based on individual initiative. Chourongee, which loosely describes a crossroad or a meeting place of our community and also symbolizes the location of Utah, is our endeavor to bring together our community in an organized fashion. We are now a nascent non-profit organization and we need all your good will and help to make this effort a success.

Chourongee is a non-profit socio-cultural association of Bengalis and Bengali-loving people of Utah. Founded in 2008, Chourongee is dedicated to promote Bengali culture in Salt Lake Valley and nearby areas. We welcome everybody interested in Bengali culture regardless of community, ethnicity and religion.
Chourongee is a fledgling organization; Our mission is to build this organization up and ultimately hand it over to the community. Here is how we envision it to work. The inception of any organization has to start with a few individuals and we have been successful in doing that. We have set up an interim committee to guide and direct Chourongee into the future. We urge you all to become members of Chourongee in the near future. Membership in Chourongee will entail a nominal donation - we will soon have the details about being a member. Once Chourongee is a strong and stable organization with a healthy membership base, Chourongee members will hold their own elections to choose their committee. The interim committee will gladly hand over the reins of Chourongee to the community-elected members. This is the goal we are working towards, and we hope we will have your complete moral, cultural and financial support to fulfill our goals.

Prasadam - Noon - 12:30 pm
Lunch -12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Cultural program - 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Snacks/break - 4:30 pm - 4:45pm
