Bengali Cultural and Social Club

On behalf of Bengali Cultural and Social Club I personally welcome every one of you to our most important celebration of Durga Puja in this new venue with excellent facilities including abundant free parking at all times. I know you will enjoy yourself with your family and friends and rightly so.

The significance of Durga Puja is the victory of good over evil. This is also a home-coming of a married daughter with her four children – her two daughters Lakshmi and Saraswati and her two sons Kartika and Ganesha. Every family can identify itself with this essential sentiment. On Bijoya Dashami the fifth day of her stay she returns to her own home.

We celebrate this event by greeting each other, spreading good wishes and happiness. We essentially forget our differences and join together for the good of our society and share our happiness with other communities.

I thank Mr Shirley Beal, the Pavilion Manager for his continuous help and co-operation throughout the year.

I also thank Dr Anit Bhattacharya, Consultant Psychiatrist and a member of our own club who has kindly agreed to perform the duties as our priest for the whole period of Puja. I know that this part of our celebrations is in the best capable hands and I wish him a great success.

Finally I thank all the executive committee members, Puja committee members, founder members, patrons and advertisers in our brochure and many of you members and non members who have worked really hard and helped to make our function such a great success.

Jai Ma Durga
