History of NABC
It started with few small hesitant steps back in 1981 by Cultural Association of Bengal, New York. Slowly but steadily it turned into a bold and confident march. Banga Sammelan has now become a major event in bengali life in North America. The inaugural conference was held in a small school and attended by only 200 people. Today 27 years later, every bengali in north America is proud to say that our conference had grown to attract over 7/8 thousands of attendees.

1)Prabasi Bengali Cultural Association (PBCA) is a registered non-profit social and cultural association in Toronto. Address:140 Millwick Drive, Westen (one block east of Islington Avenue between Steeles and Finch Avenue). The main objectives of PBCA are: to preserve and promote our culture and heritage, to promote better understanding among different ethnic groups in Toronto as well as mainstream Canadians through cultural performances. Activities of PBCA include: social events, cultural performances, recreational activities, film shows, dances, dramas and picnic. For more information, please call (416)499-7638
2)Bangiya Parishad (BP) is a sister organization of PBCA and registered as non-profit charitable religious association. Address: same as PBCA. Bangiya Parishad is fulfilling the needs of religious activities of all sectors of hindu Bengaly community. BP is well placed in Toronto as an association by organizing different pujas and servises including Durga Puja. Any contribution or donation made to BP is tax deductable. 3) Bangladesh Canada Hindu Society: Is a recently established non-profit association. As it's name suggests, most of the members are hindu bengalees of Bangladesh. If you like to be a member or like to have more information about the society, please contact Mr. Sibu Chowdhury at 416-693-6305
