By our Sports Reporter GUWAHATI, July 16 – The secretary of the All India Powerlifting Federation (AIPF) Subrata Dutta disclosd here today that 15 countries have already confirmed their participation in the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship wich is scheduled to be held here from December 9 to 13 next year.Interecting with the media persons here today, the Arjuna Award winner athlete said taht the AIPF is gearing up for the championship where over 200 powerlifters will take part. He intimated that countries like South Africa, Ireland, New Zealand, England, Australia, Pakistan, Canada, Fiji, Tahiti, Scotland, Walse, Kenya, Nigeria, besides India, have already sent their confirmation.Dutta also revealed that dope test will be conducted for the participating lifters prior to the competition. Kailash Sarma, president of the North East Powerlifting Association, the organiser of the championship, revealed that the dope test has to be conducted at the district level so that the malpractice could be prevented from the initial stage. Former sports commissioner Pradip Hazarika was also present on the occasion.
