AAJU condemns attack on journalists

From our Staff Correspondent DIBRUGARH, June 9: The All Assam Journalists’ Union (AAJU) has condemned the attack on a section of Journalists including Tanka Dutta, working president, North Lakhimpur Press Club and News Live correspondent and cameraman by a group of miscreants while they were covering an encroachment story at Nokari in the Lakhimpur district on June 6. I Ahmed, chief advisor and Rohini Medhi, president of AAJU, in a statement issued to the press, demanded a high level enquiry into the incident. He also urged upon the civic and police administration of the North Lakhimpur district to nab the offenders within 48 hours and take exemplary action against them. Ahmed further stated that the AAJU would support all the steps taken by the members of North Lakhimpur Press Club and other journalists of the district in protest against this incident.
